So didn't get a lot of reading done this summer what with moving and looking for a new job --both full time jobs at times it seems. But I did finally get to a few books that I will discuss here.
Walk the Edge by Katie McGarry Thunder Road Book 2
Breanna has a lot of responsibilities at home helping her parents take care of her siblings; so she doesn't need the added stress of being blackmailed by Kyle, the alpha jock, who wants her to write his English papers. When Thomas "Razor" of the local motorcycle club, Reign of Terror, steps in to help her things get even more complicated. What happens when a good-girl and the bad-boy fall in love? HS relationships, bullying, romance
What I liked: I liked the characters and the development of the relationship between Breanna and Razor. I am a sucker for a sweet love story. It did read a little too "alpha male" to me at times and reached my limit of over the top drama.
Who should read it: People who like romance and lots of teen angst especially those with sweet girls and sensitive bad boys.
If you liked this, then try:
Jesse's Girl by Miranda Kenneally
The Natural History of Us by Rachel Harris
Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay
Trouble from the Start by Rachel Hawthorne
To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han
Blackmail Boyfriend by Chris Cannon

Josh has lost everyone in his life after his grandfather passes away. He decides it would be easier to close himself off from love because he is cursed or something. So he is essentially a loner with one persistent friend from childhood as his only sometime companion. Nastya is the new girl at school who admires the wall that Josh seems to have around him. Suffering from a trauma, Nastya wants a forcefield too. When they meet a tentative friendship develops but when Nastya's past rears it's ugly head will she be strong enough to handle it? Will she be strong enough to ask for help? HS PTSD, death, relationships, love
What I liked: I liked Josh and his relationship with his friend, Drew, and his family. I liked that the relationship between Josh and Nastya developed slowly and realistically with believable setbacks and hiccups. No insta-love or soap opera drama.
Who should read it: People who like romances that deal with realistic people and situations. People who want an exploration of trauma and its aftereffects and the journey to recovery.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Between the Lines by Tamara Webber
Just one Day by Gayle Forman
The Statistical Probablility of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith
The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh
